1. Move Your Jade Plant in Shaded Area

Move your Jade plant to a shaded area where it is protected from cold winds and frost. Excessive cold can harm jade plant.

  • I first check the soil surface by inserting a finger or stick into the soil.
  • If the soil is wet, I don’t water. If the soil is dry, I water my jade plant.

4. Best Fertilizer for Jade plant in Winter

Jade plants go into a dormant state during the winter, so they don’t need as many nutrients. Over-fertilizing can further stress the plant.

Which fertilizer I give to my jade plant:

I recommend two organic fertilizers that are natural sources of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) and promote healthy growth in jade plants.

The two organic fertilizers are:

(i) Mustard cake liquid fertilizer

(ii) Groundnut cake liquid fertilizer 

You can apply little amount of well diluted mustard cake or groundnut cake liquid fertilizer once a month.

  • Both of these fertilizers are slightly warm in nature and strengthen the jade plant’s roots and promote overall growth during the winter.
